The claim processing timeline is estimated to take approximately 45 days, during which depositors can expect their claims to be processed diligently. This eliminates any financial burden on the depositors during the refund process. At the strating phase, a total of Rs.5000 crore will be distributed. However, each depositor will receive an initial amount of Rs 10,000 during this phase, subject to the success of the initial disbursement.
Union Minister Amit Shah said that around 4 crore depositors are eligible to receive upto Rs. 10,000 in first phase. The success of this phase will pave the way for subsequent disbursements and further measures to address the claims of depositors with larger amounts of money stuck in Sahara Group’s cooperative societies.
